9 Month Check-Up

We went to see the doctor on Monday for the babies 9 month check-up. As always, they are at the top of the growth charts.

Liam is 31" long (98th percentile) and weighs 25 lbs 2 oz (96th percentile). Olivia is 29 1/2" long (97th percentile) and weighs 21 lbs 8 oz (89th percentile).

They are doing great on all of their developmental milestones, and the best part was they didn't need any shots this visit!

My Crib or Yours

This weekend Liam and Olivia were supposed to be taking their morning nap. I checked the monitor, only to wonder, "where is Liam?" I noticed two feet dangling inside his crib, with his body hanging over into Olivia's crib. She was sound asleep but he was ready to climb on in and play. It was time to lower the mattresses! When Olivia woke up Daddy went to work. The babies are having fun playing in the new set-up. They think it is hilarious that they can see each other (and us) through the bars. They have already learned to pull themselves up to a standing position, but luckily they are still way to short to climb over the railings from there.... for now!

Sad News

On Saturday, April 9th my grandpa passed away. We miss him very much, but are so happy that we got to have all the time with him that we did. He always wanted to become "great" and he loved Liam and Olivia very much. On Friday (the day before he passed) we spent the day with him. He got to see Liam and Olivia crawling, sitting, laughing and smiling and give them lots of kisses. It was another day of good grandpa memories that I will always treasure.

Spring Fun!

The weather has been beautiful here this week. Sunny and 80 degrees. But a few weeks ago it was raining like crazy. We took advantage of a break in the rain and took a picnic over to the park. The babies had a great time playing. Mommy and Daddy had fun too!

Road Trip to Oregon

Last week we took a road trip to Bend, Oregon.... Mommy, Daddy, Liam, Olivia and Peyton in our car, and Grandma, Grandpa and a whole lot of baby gear in their car. The drive went great both ways. We all had so much fun while we were there. We stayed at AJ and Uncle Dave's beautiful new house. They live in a great neighborhood with nice parks and little shops and restaurants you can walk to. We had a lot of fun exploring Bend and hope to go back soon. Peyton got to play in the snow for the first time. He slid all over the deck and loved the snow flakes falling on his head. We also got to celebrate AJ's birthday while we were there. Check out the cake I made her.... chocolate chocolate chip with chocolate butter cream frosting and raspberry filling... yum yum! I wish I could eat another piece right now! We can't wait for our next trip.
