2-Year Check Up

Liam and Olivia went to see their pediatrician today for their 2-year check up.  Everything went great, and the best part was - NO SHOTS!  They don't have to go back again until they are three. 

Liam wieghed in at 34 lbs 6 oz.  This puts him at the 97th percentile!  (Dr. Tominaga was quick to point out that they are not obese - just BIG kids, and so unusual for twins!)  He is 3' 2.5" tall - literally 99.9 percentile.  Olivia is 31 lbs 6 oz.  She is in the 92nd percentile for weight.  She is 3' 2" tall - again 99.9 percentile.

Because we/she had no health concerns, we just talked about things like safety, toothbrushing, patience :) (for some reason toddlers think the world revolves around them), timeouts, big kids beds, and potty training.  It is also time to switch to low fat or fat free milk.  This is another big milestone for us - not as big as getting rid of bottles, but for the past year we have had to keep two gallons of whole milk in the fridge each week for the babies and two gallons of fat free each week for Nathan.  This took up a lot of fridge space!  I might have to go to the store more often, but at least the family can share milk now!

It is amazing we are at two years already.  Can't wait until we go back at year three and she how much more they have grown and changed. 

Happy 2nd Birthday Liam and Olivia

Happy birthday to our twins!  We can't believe they are already two.  Where has the time gone?

Liam and Olivia had two parties this year.  First we traveled to Indiana to celbrate with Nathan's family and our Indiana friends.  We had a Dr. Seuss themed party - in honor of Thing One and Thing Two of course!  The kids (and many of the adults) played at the gymnastics center.  Then we celebrated with fun food that can be found in some of the books.  It was so great to spend time with everyone.

 

When we got home from Indiana we celebrated again with a small dinner at our house on Liam and Olivia's actual birthday (July 23rd).  I would have to say the best part of the night was the cake...

Fun with Friends

We have been having lots of fun with friends lately.  A couple weeks ago my childhood friend Aimee was in town with her two boys from Colorado.  They came over for pizza, and our friend Megan and her family were also able to join us.  We had so much fun, but the best part was watching all the kids play together.  The trampoline was by far the most popular toy!

Last weekend we went to the Sacramento Children's Museum with Laura, Alex and their boys Tyler and Ryan.  The kids all had so much fun doing the hands-on activities, but I couldn't get them all together for a photo!

Yesterday was Tyler and Ryan's bday party. We spent almost the entire time in the pool - and with two kids under two that means both parents were all wet!  No photos of this fun day!  Need to get a water camera...

And of course Liam and Olivia are friends too!  They have been having lots of fun playing in the backyard.
